Re: How was your weekend?

  • Yes workSad

Friday and Saturday we watched our neice/friends' daughter as a girls' night in/day out for her b-day.  DW and she got pedis.  E and I joined them for lunch.  Friends of ours had their baby - yahoo!  So we went to meet him and then to a cookout/campfire with friends.  Sunday E and I went to get groceries so DW could work.  The rest of the day we made food for the friends with the new baby and visited the family again.  I watched football.  We stayed up too late tasking and catching up on TV, but the house feels better for it.

  • No work. Big Smile  Sorry madison (and anyone else working today).

After I get myself out of the house (still in the tea/oatmeal/jammers routine), I have to get groceries and then drive over to the fertility pharmacy to pick up my IVF meds (!!!).  Then going up to Maine to meet up with a friend and celebrate her birthday, then to try out a new wine/charcuterie bar tonight.  The window of opportunity for me to enjoy wine and charcuterie is closing, so I'm glad we're getting it in while we can.

We went to a wedding on Saturday, and have otherwise had a relatively lazy weekend...lounging, napping, movie, errands.

  • I have to work today but I work from home so .... yeah

Friday - Friends came over for dinner and we had a nice relaxing evening in.

Saturday - I lounged and watched some college football.  Did a few small housework items while M did the harder stuff such as sweeping, moping etc. It felt awesome as always to just relax together on the couch looking at a clean house (I always slack on the mopping etc)

Sunday - Had lunch at my parents house.  I started to feel more prominent movement of the boys!!!!  I can even tell now who is moving based on where the movement is!!! We got home and watched some football.  Then we had dinner and watched Drew Brees break the most consecutive games with a touchdown pass record that was one of the longest standing records in the NFL.  Oh and the Saints got their first win.  Now if only the Texans will beat the Jets tonight!!!! (If you cannot tell Football is king in our house this time of year).

Overall it was a very relaxing weekend and we got to spend a lot of time together!

  • Fri: My mom picked up Ky and once I got home the three of us went shopping.

Sat: Tumbling, eye doctor for me (I was there early and they actually took me and so I got out super fast...possibly the thought of a toddler wreakign havoc in the office?), late breakfast with a friend, farmer's market for some fresh veggies and flowers, home to clean! I went over to D&T s that night and it was fun, we kind of avoided any A and I related subjects. I had a few drinks and we played a marathon Monopoly session. I crashed there and left early to get Ky.

Sun: Once I got hom with Ky, I fixed breakfast and my mom, Ky and I got ready to head out. We went to the Renaissance festival but apparently it was a bit colder there than at home so we were all freezing by 1 and left. It was still fun though and Ky enjoyed the pirate shows. Ky fell asleep on the way home and stayed asleep while i put her in bed...mommy win! We ate take out and watched Grey's while I half attempted to do laundry. After dinner I took Ky to the park and then brought ice cream home for everyone. Bath and snuggle time before I went to bed at the same time as munchkin.

    I am at work today...BOO!

  • Friday I met L and the kids for dinner and we caught up on DVR after the kids went to bed.

Saturday - L left early to go write for the rest of the weekend. I took the kids to their soccer game and then to lunch and playdate with a girl from their class/soccer team. Went home for a short rest before I dropped them off at Parents Night Out and met up with L for a movie. Got the kids to bed late and they were exhausted.

Sunday - We didn't leave the house the entire day. I spent the day alternating between cleaning/laundry/decluttering/tv/internet/playing with the kids while the kids alternated between video games/fort making/play doh/movies/Legos/homework/reading. I can't remember the last time we didn't get out and stayed in our pjs all day. The kids loved it.

The kids don't have school today and so I took today off. We were at Wegmans by 8 and it was blissfully empty. AWESOME. The kids just finished up their homework while I finished cleaning/making their lunch for tomorrow. We are meeting L for lunch and then going to the outlets and go to Costco. Clearly, the kids had too much together time yesterday, because they are driving each other (and me) crazy.

  • I had been at work for 4 hours by 11:30 ET (my body is in central time, so that wasn't pretty).  Comped myself 2 hours from last week to go shoe shopping in the middle of the afternoon, which was really nice!  Two more hours of work, then it's off to see some friends.

Friday - C and I went out to dinner and had a lovely evening.

Saturday - I volunteered in the morning.  It was both awesome and tough.  Awesome because I spent the morning with a 10 year old as my partner and he was so fun, because I got promoted to "personal shopping team leader" and somehow I get immense satisfaction out of that, and because we had a very busy day.  Tough because it was the first Saturday of the month and the food bank was running light on food.  With a half hour to go we were almost out of everything.  We didn't have to turn anyone away, but several guests chose to come back on a day we had more in stock.  Spent the afternoon relaxing, then in the evening went to a banquet for a physicist's 75th birthday.  The beginning was fun and C suggested we leave early when it hit 10 p.m. and my eyes had been glazed over for a good half hour.

Sunday - C was up early for her conference, and I was up early to pack and head out for a business trip.  In the afternoon I went over to our friends' house to see their new baby - he's a month old and still a totally squishy newborn.  It was awesome!  Then for my favorite part of business trips - back to the hotel room by myself.  I think it's my personal form of introvert bliss.

Same sex couple TTC with donor sperm.  I am 35 and carrying.  Endometriosis and DOR.
    AMH 0.5, AFC 5-8, FSH 7ish

IVF #1 - antagonist.  Empty follicle syndrome.  1 retrieved, 0 fertilized.
    IVF #2 - antagonist.  Ovulated early.  3 retrieved, 2 fertilized, 0 blasts
  • On Friday I did some job-hunting stuff in the morning and then picked a friend up at the airport and got sandwiches for lunch. We hung out with the babies in the afternoon and got caught up. I dropped her at her hotel in the early evening and then spent an hour fighting traffic to get home. Boo. Nothing much in the evening.

On Saturday morning I had an online audition for a part-time teaching gig. It was awkward, teaching a Powerpoint slide and a random little box of questions that people were asking. But it went well (especially considering I'd never done that before), and I got word yesterday that I was advanced to the next step of the process. We were supposed to meet my friend from Friday and her friend and son for lunch, but friend's friend didn't feel well so that got cancelled. Instead we went to the cloth diaper store's $1 used sale (just got a few things) and met other friends at a small apple festival in town. Jen did a bunch of shopping solo in the afternoon while I hung out with the babies. We had fun reading books and playing dance party (which consists of them watching me dance, and me making them dance by moving their limbs :)) After they went to bed we committed to some serious DVR cleanup and watched the last four episodes of The L.A. Complex and a few other shows.

We paid for staying up too late on Saturday - we were both beat on Sunday. We met my mom at the pumpkin patch and had fun drinking cider and taking pictures and riding on the hay wagon. Afterward we met my dad for lunch, but the babies were exhausted and there was a lot of melting down - followed by a lot of screaming and refusing to nap when we got home. They finally took short naps, and nursing cheered them up enough to get through story time and bath time before conking out easily. Jen went to bed at 8pm and I wanted to join her, but stayed up to write and send out the monthly baby newsletter.

  • Yup, I'm working today. We only close on Christmas. Boo.

Friday I relaxed it was much needed! While J was at work. She got home and then went out for some drinks with a few friends. I wasn't feeling up to it, so I called it an early night and went to bed.

Saturday I watched a little tv in the morning and played with the pup. Dropped J off at work in the afternoon and went home to do some major cleaning. In the early evening I went to my good ol' alma mater for homecoming and alumni weekend to meet up with some old college friends. We walked the campus, took lots of pictures, caught up and grabbed dinner. It was a great night! After that, I went to pick J up from work then we went to bed.

Sunday I had a lazy morning and then went out to grab a couple drinks with some friends.
