AW: Date Night! Cancel that....

DH and I have not been on a date night since Scott was born. Whoops...

We do live very far away from our parents.  And baby sitters are expensive!  But we're doing it.  Steakhouse dinner and a movie.  I am going to eat dessert since I can't have alcohol.   Yum.  Excited for chocolate.

UPDATE: No...Let's just have a huge fight instead.  Thanks, DH,  for making tons of noise around the living room when I was trying to get Scott back down for a nap after he woke up super early.  Cancelled the babysitter. So not in the mood to do anything with him.

Bummer.  =/  Sometimes men are clueless.  Is he usually pretty helpful with S?  Maybe, if you're feeling up to it, you guys can salvage the night by watching a movie together over a bowl of popcorn.  I know it's not as fun, but maybe he didn't mean to be a poo.  I'm just saying because I know when a guy is being an inconsiderate jerk without remorse, and maybe he didn't mean it, you know?

Sound like you guys really needed that date night! I would call that sitter back & go on the date as scheduled. Yes, he was being thoughtless and you should have a talk about it. But, if that kind of fight is canceling dates - well, that's why you really need the date!

Sometimes you just have to fake it till you make it. If you try to enjoy his company, you might just do that. Don't let one little fight ruin your first night out in over a year.

Lob, don't cancel the date over a fight. S will be a little sleepy for the babysitter, but he'll be fine. Use the alone time to remind DH to STFU when S is trying to sleep, and then have dessert for an appetizer.

I'm sorry it turned out to be a sucky afternoon.

  • I can so relate!  What is it about husbands and not understanding that they ahve to be QUIET when LO is sleeping?! If I was napping you wouldn't be walking around loudly, so why not extend the same courtesy to your child!

I know a lot of babies can sleep through noise, but unfortunately we have a light sleeper. He doesn't get it!
