Squeaky Sophie vs. Non-Squeaky Sophie

I remember someone on here mentioned there were two different Sophies - one that squeaks and one that doesn't.  I apparently was given the one that squeaks.  I just don't see anywhere on the packaging that states it does vs. doesn't.

So, if I want to exchange it for non-squeaky Sophie, how do I figure out what I'm getting (other than opening it and trying it)?

    There is one that is harder and smaller and has 2 rings attached to it that doesn't squeak. But as far as the original Sophie, they all squeak. I noticed after I washed it she didn't squeak as much for the next day or so b/c of the water that got inside :)

    We only have squeaky Sophie - we received 3, returned 1, kept the 2 for "car toys" for DD for each car.  She STILL plays with Sophie and DD is 2!  I would keep the squeaky one because it makes DD happy, and it would make many little babes happy.

    Okay, thanks.  I thought the person who posted about it meant they were exactly the same, except one squeaks and the other doesn't.  I'll just keep this one.  Thanks!

    There's the squeaky full-sized Sophie, a bath toy Sophie, and a teether Sophie. There is no option of a squeaky or non-squeaky full-sized Sophie.
    Started TTC 2/2009

    ....OR NOT.

    maybe the OP is talking about some fake Sophies that have been seen around? If you check out reviews on Amazon, a bunch of fakes were sold.  Packaging looks the same, but the actual Sophie was a bit different.

    All full sized authentic Sophies squeak. There are other Sophie brand "toys" that are different and don't, but yours is the only way the actual Sophie toy works.

    This Sophie is probably what they were talking about. It is cute but not the same as the squeaky Sophie. However it would eliminate that legs down the throat/gagging/choking problem everyone worries about.
