So the second time back at the drs office this week. I have an irritable uterus...
Back story: I started having really bad back spasms last weekend. On Monday evening the spasms starting causing really strong BH. By Tuesday morning I was miserable. I called the doctor and they got in me right in. They found I was having very mild contractions after monitoring me for an hour and my cervix has shortened again but is still very closed and firm. They put me on a muscle relaxer with instructions for it to be taken anytime I had 3 strong BH in one hour or my back spasms get severe. I was told to call the doctor if I had more than 5 BH in one hour or if an hour after taking the muscle relaxer they weren't stopping.
Well today I woke up with having 5 BH in one hour so I called the doctor. They saw me again this morning and my cervix has shortened yet again. When they monitored me, I was not having actual contractions though so that was a plus. I am now on very light duty and not allowed to be on my feet for more than 1 hour at a time. They want me for the most part to rest until my A/S which is next Thursday and they said we can revisit
So now I guess it is a waiting game to see what happens. I will say both boys are doing great and big! They have very strong heart beats and were moving around like crazy. I will be taking it very easy for the next few days and wearing my maternity support belt all the time I am upright. Sorry this got long, I just needed to get that out of my head.
Anyone deal with an irritable uterus during pregnancy?
Re: It's Official, Irritable Uterus
I am glad that the doctors are so on top of this. You must feel very reassured.
Sending you lots of calm and peace and hoping that those contractions subside really soon.
Thank you and yes! I am very assured as they have treated this so seriously, given me very blunt feedback and made me feel like it's a big deal. I know that sounds funny but I would rather them act early than blow it off now only to have to act later. As my doctor said I have a better chance of making it to term if we get this under control now rather than later when we need stronger drugs to stop contractions etc.
They are going to monitor me closely as the doctor wants the babies inside until at earliest 36 weeks.
