DS seems to always sleep better on his stomach but it has always been when DH or I have been holding him either across our legs or on our stomachs. I know over the years the way infants should be put down to sleep has kept changing. Does anyone now put their LO to sleep on their tummy? How do you do it and keep from worrying about them being able to breathe? I know I'm a survivor of stomach sleeping. If DS sleeps better this way should I consult with his pedi to see if we can do this more regularly?
Re: Stomach sleeping
DS sleeps on his tummy during naps (sleeps way better on this tummy) but at night we put him down on his back.
I am trying tonight actually putting him down on his tummy for a bit (while Im up and in the room) then switching him over to his back. well see how this goes...
my first one slept on his stomach, would not sleep on his back at all. As soon as I would lay him down he would wake up and scream. So I let him sleep on his back, he is 3 yrs old and to this day still sleeps on his stomach.
But I just had my second on 2 weeks ago today and he only sleeps on his back. He wont sleep on his stomach, only when he is being held will he sleep on his stomach other than that he sleeps on his back. I personally think it depends on the child. Each child is comfortable in a different position, and if they can breathe than who is to keep them from being comfortable.
