Just when I feel comfortable enough to clip DD's nails when she is awake and I clipped the end of her thumb.

I was just about done and she was laughing and jerked and I cut the tip of the skin on her thumb. It kept bleeding and she kept crying. I feel terrible! I finally got a bandaid to stay on it and got her calmed done. I think I will stick to cutting them when she is asleep.

Re: My fear of the fingernail clippers just became true :(
I am glad I am not the only one! Oh and 4 month olds should not have bandaids b/c I just about had a heart attack when feeding her cereal. She was sucking on her fingers and I noticed it was gone....Ahhh. After some quick searching I found it stuck to her outfit. Phew.

Same thing happened to me a few days ago. DD didn't even notice, but the bleeding wouldn't stop!
I felt like the worst.mom.ever.
Don't feel bad. I did this when DD was about a month old! I cried harder than she did...
My easy button is putting her on my lap and turning on the t.v. We don't let her watch t.v. except for when I am sucking the nose or clipping nails. She is mesmerized and I can get them done quickly and easily.
