Reid is here - the prayers worked!

Hi Ladies -

Reid Nicholas was born this morning at 11:56am. He was sunny side up with the cord wrapped around his neck. His heart rate was dipping to 70-80 during contractions, so we were FREAKING OUT. Remember - our little guy has a congenital heart defect. So, after 12 hours of contractions 2 minutes apart - we rushed to the operating room. Here they made me push 12 or so times, realizing that the baby was not going to come down into the birth canal and the heart rate was still going crazy.

He had an emergency C section - but all went great.

He showed 0 signs of distress and we were able to bond with him immediately. YAY! He was taken to the NICU after about 20 minutes where they evaluated him. He looked great! He did get an iv for blood sugar issues.

He also had his ultrasound. It showed what they expected it to....right atrial anuerym. However, we are now debating surgery - it's not affecting his breathing at all...or anything at all. What a great day....the best day of our lives.

We've been breast feeding and pumping.
