Daphne Bell M. is here!

Hello October moms,

Daphne Bell M. was born Oct. 3 at 8:50pm, 8lbs 8.8oz and 20.5 inches. Pics are in my profile, so if you would like to take a peek don't be alarmed by the hairy one, Brian (DH) got silly with his beard and Daphne.

I labored for about 8 hours and pushed for 45mins... tried to go natural but needed relief big time from my contractions, so I got drugs and they were very helpful! Daphne came out with her cord around her neck and the midwife had to cut it before the rest of her came out. She was a little pale and needed some attention and warming up, Brian was right by her side the whole time (as was our plan B in case something like this was to happen). As soon as I heard her cry I could see Brian tearing up and we were in love with her little squeaky cry!

She is healthy and happy and breast feeding like a champ! We are getting used to nightly awakenings and the dogs are being very good with her. 

As for our hospital stay: they had everything we (baby and I) needed. We have Kaiser, they really made everything easy and worry free, and all the nurses were super helpful and I couldn't ask for better care. I would say the dad needs a hospital bag more than mom does since they cater to you and baby.
