How to position newborns feet in a mei tai

For legs in froggy legs, I know they are supposed to have their weight on their butt not their feet... Any tips on how best to ensure they are positioned properly? I bought my bamberoo when DD1 was a toddler so I'm knew to using it with a newborn :

Easiest way to explain is to hold baby in arms with your hand on baby's bum mimicking the carrier - and then put baby in that same position in the carrier. I'm actually not a fan of legs in because it's harder to get right - doable though! I would tell you to cinch the bottom in - but the b'roo is so structured with the padded waist it won't work as well until baby is close to fitting legs out. How big is baby? You could try using a folded blanket to make a little seat for under the bum - baby's legs are still in but that keeps the weight off the feet more easily.

Thanks Meredith. I was holding her this morning realized her feet are scrunched into my belly and her weight was on her butt.
She's probably 9 pounds? Appt next week. When do you think I could cinch do legs out in a b'roo? I have a great lending library available to me for MTs without padding but I really want to continue to use mine to break it in more.

Is it the standard size? Darts or no? If it's a standard with no darts you could try it now but if it's still pretty stiff it may not work well - but no harm trying! Maybe try the unpadded MT so you can see how it would fit and then see if the b'roo can do the same.

Standard size, no darts, but pretty stiff. I'm the second owner. Good idea on trying it in an unpadded MT.
