My DD is 7 1/2 months old and refusing to eat baby food but every time she see table food she goes crazy. She has been giving me a hard time with the baby food for a about a week now so last night I cut up chicken really small and carrots and she loved it. Is it to early to start table food? Any tips or advice would be helpful. Thank you.
Re: When to start baby on table food?
Everyone does things differently. Some people never give their baby pures at all. Do whatever you feel comfortable with!
No, there's baby led weaning that starts by skipping purees and going straight to table food. As long as she's demonstrating that she's ready, which she clearly is
, I'd say go for it.
As for us, DD refused purees too so finally after fighting with her and doing purees for 3 days then a week without and a day of them then 2 weeks without I gave in and started giving her bits of our food and she gobbled it! Now she eats everything we eat and her gerber puffs/doodles/yogurts melts. The past 2 days when we've gone to restaurants I've even ordered her her own meal because otherwise I won't be able to eat mine lol because she will!! Her absolute favorite is chicken noodle soup, well pretty much anything I cook in the slow cooker (which is great for the flavors/textures, you can get all sorts of veggies in there and it makes meats nice and tender!)
Make sure things aren't easy for her to choke on, like super round foods or too big or slippery.

Same here. I just encourage you to learn the difference between choking and gagging. It's scary at first when they gag, but it's all part of how they learn! Good luck!
