Hello Mom,
Looking for snack ideas for 1 year old with only 6 teeth...4 at the top & 2 at the bottom. I have friends who feed this 1 year olds big sandwich pieces and hard foods. Saying they will learn to eat it. I' m just nervous my LO may choke. Any food ideas will help.
Thanks Moms :-)
Re: Snack Ideas for 12 month old
I haven't really offered too many "real foods" to DS but he eats
fruits/veggies
english muffins with cheese (toasted)/regular grilled cheese
chicken
mozzarella/cheddar cheese
pasta
goldfish
pancakes
He's also had the basic things like puffs, mum mums, hard teething cookies/biscuits. He has 4 teeth right now (2 more top ones coming in though) but I haven't worried if things are hard because he'll use his teeth to chew on it or he'll suck on it so it gets soft. Just offer a small piece and see what happens. I've been dying to give him pieces of a sandwich but he's real iffy with bread so I haven't yet. I've read on here a lot of moms just give whatever they eat at dinner. I wouldn't worry too much if LO isn't ready you'll know.

I have a bunch of finger food ideas on my blog you might find helpful. GL!

My 1 year old has 3 teeth (1 bottom, 2 top) and sandwiches are one of his favorite foods! But we use them for lunches, not snacks.
For snacks I love:
*fruit (today he has blueberries and strawberries)
*veggies (his favorite for snacks are grape tomatoes. He'll put away almost a pint)
*cheese
*yogurt drops (I make these myself by making drops of yogurt on a cookie sheet and freezing)
* freeze-dried fruit (I usually keep this in my diaper bag for snacks. Trader Joes makes great ones with no additives)
* oyster crackers (I know a ton of people use goldfish crackers for their kids, but they are SO high in sodium! The oyster crackers I buy have very little sodium so I feel better about giving them as snacks)
* yogurt covered pretzels
