So Caleb had a nasty cold last week, resulting in me staying home with him twice from work. We went to his 15 month check-up, and the Dr. said he had fluid behind his ears and to come back if he had a fever. Caleb had a fever all day Saturday (but we didn't take him because we thought it might be related to shots). Sunday morning he still had a fever, so we went to urgent care...yup, ear infection. Now he is on amoxicillian. Nasty diarrhea diapers (we have temporarily switched to sposies...I couldn't handle rinsing out the cloth). His grandparents were here this week, so he could at least stay home and I didn't miss any more work. Thought he was feeling better, then this morning, threw up all his milk and didn't want to eat:(
Uhh...nothing more to this post except to vent and to say I feel for all the mommies who have dealt with multiple ear infections.
Vent over.
Re: First Ear Infection (Vent)
Ear infections are the worst
I feel for you...when Brennan had a bunch, he was little enough to sleep in his swing, and ended up with tubes at 10 months. I don't know what I'd do now on those nights when ear infections can cause LOs to wake up.
For your little man's sake, I hope the amoxicillin works. The diapers and resulting rash get worse with each step up the medicine ladder...once you hit Ceftin, it's so thick and gritty, I don't even think I could stomach it. That's like step 6 or something like that, though.
