Re: Wellness Wednesday
I am having a good week. I am still in the high 160s with goals of 145. I'm on my way down... slow and steady. I am constantly learning new things about health and fitness, and that makes me feel more confident about my choices, but overall sometimes it gets a little tough to deal with slow progress. I mean, it's progress nonetheless, but I'd love to see the scale drop 5lbs overnight... ::sigh::
I am currently eating in a way that looks like Paleo. O's food allergies keep us away from wheat, fish, nuts, dairy, soy, shellfish and eggs. So, I eat meat, fruits and vegetables. Because of this, I can't do long distance runs and expect that to aid in my weight loss. I backed off my long distance running to one day per week, picked up a few more days of weight lifting and I walk long distances 4 days a week.
I am currently happy with my plan.
I'm aiming for 3 or more spinning classes a week plus any Pilates and walking I can get in. I track my food intake with weightwatchers on my phone.
I need a "you can do it" pep talk. It's me and Liam and Jack alone for 100 plus hours a week and I'm tired. Just plain tired.
It sounds like you're doing awesome!! Woohoo!
Next time you have that conversation with yourself; you know the one:
Angel: You shouldn't eat that...
Devil: But, it tastes SOOOO good!!
Whatever it takes!! Listen to the Angel.
Or, this conversation:
"Hmmm... What should we do today?"
Angel: Put the boys in the stroller and hit the pavement on a 2 mile walk.
Devil: Catch up on the DVR recordings!!
LISTEN TO THE ANGEL!!
Just do this faithfully for 5 days. If you don't like the results eat a donut!! If you do like the results repeat as necessary!!
You can do this. It is all within your power, and it's only within your power. Nobody else can do this for you. Do you WANT to do this for you? No more excuses. For each excuse you make, there is a COMPLETELY feasible way around that excuse. It just depends on how honest you want to be with yourself. DO IT!!
We're here 7 days a week. Lean on us if you need to!!
QOTW:
1) What type of plan are you using? Weight Lifting and Pilates.
2) Are you a member of WW? No.
3) Are you tracking calories online somewhere? Yes, on MyFitnessPal.com.
4) Are you just making an effort to consume less and move more? I am eating a lot cleaner than I used to. No more soda, no more candy, no more unhealthy eating. I have lost all my weight (27lb loss) and am now trying to maintain, so I am consuming 1800-2000 cals a day. While losing I was at 1200-1400 cals a day.
5) Is your current plan working? If not, are you considering re-evaluating and moving in another direction?
It is definitely working! I am doing the 6 month weight lifting training from the book "The New Rules of Lifting for Women", and am using their diet as well. I am also doing Pilates Core Fusion video three days a week on the days I don't lift (I lift 3 days a week). I get one rest day a week where I can eat whatever I want. It makes it all worth while.
Ladies,
What is MyFitnessPal.com this site all about? Is it something good to help you with your goal of shreding the weight? Thanks
It's great, and for me, addicting! You track your food and track your exercise, and it tells you how much calories you can eat that day, how much carbs/fat/protein, etc.
It also has a very fun and addicting message board where you can chat with other people. Check it out!
