Is it worth the extra money to get a crib mattress that covers both the infant and toddler years? We are currently registered for the Visco Classica II. Any feedback would be appreciated. I don't want to overdo it here. Thanks in advance.

We have this mattress. It is extra firm which is great for infants. It says nothing about toddlers and doesn't have a toddler side but my toddler (almost 2) sleeps great on it. The toddler side on mattresses is slightly softer. Not that big a deal to me, or my DD.
You don't need to spend extra for a mattress with a toddler side. Toddlers have been sleeping fine on infant mattresses for years; they never knew anything different.
A crib mattress is good both for an infant and a toddler. I don't think you need to add anything extra in a crib mattress. You can easily find a good crib mattress protector online that you can use for the purpose.

Agreed.
DD has been an excellent sleeper, and has slept on the same mattress from 4 weeks old (Colgate Classica I). She's now 2.
