Does anyone even read these anymore? I finally feel alive enough to post it
I'll include this because it is a little strange: At 2am on Friday 9/14 (39w) I had a small gush of fluid soak my underwear when I got out of bed. It was definitely amniotic fluid. I am GBS+, so even though the small volume of the fluid confused me, we went to L&D at 4am.
First amniotic fluid indicator strip was vaguely positive (I thought a positive was a positive?). The second was inconclusive. The doctor decided to look under a slide for crystal ferning, and it came back with a very strange crystallized pattern that she hadn't seen in 15 years. The leak had stopped, so she concluded that I had a secondary sac of amniotic fluid rupture that was not part of the main sac. Still, she planned to start antibiotics and induce that day. I was having regular contractions at this point, but 20 minutes apart. We filled out paperwork and they were getting our room ready. THEN, the shift changed. The next doctor sent me home at 8:30am. I was so sad.
I had a miserable Friday of
painful contractions. I must have walked 10 miles because it gave some
odd sense of relief to move through them.
Whaaaaa!
She always scopes things out with her left eye before committing to fully waking up, haha:

I still read the birth stories. I wake up each morning looking for them.
So, thank you for posting. She is adorable. Congrats on your human!
Hehe thanks! We were going to do Wendolyn...DH also liked Gwendolyn which was Winnie Cooper's full name on the Wonder Years...
But the name we loved was Winnie so we made the decision to put just that on the birth certificate as we were walking through contractions in the hospital. Now she doesn't have to correct teachers her entire life. We just have to raise her to be badassz enough to rock her name as a CEO if that's what she wants to be! I have had a few people comment that it's not a professional name. Funny because mine isn't and it has never interfered with my professional life. If anything it has made me more memorable.
Oh I'll have to look tomorrow to see if you have a pic in your siggy! Isn't a dimple chin so kissable? It's so funny on a tiny baby!
