Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Please recommend your baby food maker

Popping in from the 0-3 months board.  Which food maker do you have, and how do you like it?  Which should I get? TIA!

Re: Please recommend your baby food maker

  • We have the baby bullet we only use the steamer i highly recommend that it makes it so easy and the bullet part i found the storage containers kinda useless. Ice cube tray work the best for us

  • Didn't buy anything special. Used the food processor I already had and used ice cube trays for freezing.

  • We have a baby bullet and used it for such a short amount of time I wouldn't recommend buying one.  DD liked pureed foods for literally a month.

this! I did invest in some ice cube trays with lids for stacking..but other than that it was just my steamer basket and food processor.

  • I used the Magic Bullet. Same company and same ideas as the Baby Bullet, but it can be used for other things too. DS only ate purees for a couple of months, but since I got a multipurpose device instead of a baby-specific one, I still get a lot of use out of it. I use it to make smoothies and slushes, grind spices, make oat flour and flax meal, etc. Best $50 I've spent in a long time.

Collapsable steamer insert and an immersion blender.

Ditto. I also used my blender, or food processor, or fork depending upon what it was. Don't invest in anything. If you have nothing  a 20 dollar food processor or immersion blender will last a lot longer in your kitchen than a useless specialty item.

  • I didn't buy anything special other than cheap ice cube trays. I just steamed with our steamer or roasted food and then threw it in our blender.

  • Thanks ladies for your input!  I appreciate it.
  • We were gifted a baby bullet but wound up selling it on eBay. Use regular blender for large batches and hand blender or fork for small ones.
