as soon as we get clearance at her 4 month appointment tomorrow. I'm not going to give her food on a regular basis until she's 6 months but we will def play around with purees until then! I think I'm so excited because I get to introduce her to fruits and veggies and hopefully find ways she likes to eat them. I always hated vegetables with a passion and I think it's because my parents only cooked them by steaming them which is just gross. This is like my little science project

how can I get her to love brussel sprouts and cruciferous veggies that are the bane of my existence.. I'm going to figure it out!

Re: Sooooo excited to give her food
Deff have fun!!! Are you planning to make your own? Its such a blast!!!
Yes, DS tries to take the spoon from me and feed himself... its quite funny!
I felt the same way about starting solids. My babies LOVE to eat and it's so cute to watch them. I put them side by side and they like to watch each other eat. My daughter is a SUPER messy eater, but my son hardly wastes a morsel. Emmie Kate gets food everywhere, but mostly on her hands, which she insists on shoving into her mouth after every bite. From time to time she'll reach out to Ben and he'll try to grab her hand and eat the food off of it. LOL! So far they have had rice cereal, peas, sweet potatoes and bananas. I make their food in my Beaba BabyCook and when I made food today I steamed and pureed some apples. We'll probably try those next week.
Watching them eat is funny and sweet and it makes me so happy. At this stage of their lives they literally do something new every day and I was just telling my husband tonight that watching them grow and learn new things is beautiful, terrifying and sad all at the same time. That's the best way I can describe it. They are changing and growing SO fast (they turned 20 weeks old yesterday). I miss that sweet little infant stage, but what parent can't love watching their babies explore and learn new things? Food is one of those things. Every time they try something new the look on their faces while they try to figure out the new flavor and texture is priceless. Every time we introduce a new food it's like a new little adventure.
