Babywearers-reccommend your mei tai

I'd like to purchase one but there are so many, how do you choose?! I'm thinking of either Babyhawk or Kozy but have heard Bamberoo is good too.

  • I love my Babyhawk.  Lots of fun color selection too.  You can design your own on their website.

  • While they are all mei tais, I'd disagree that they are all very similar.  The best thing would be to try them on if you can.  The babyhawk has the smallest body and the least structure - it's hands down my favorite small baby mei tai but at 5 months (particularly if you have a bigger baby) you may want something a bit larger.  I do really love them though!  The Kozy is a pretty large bodied MT - actually quite nice with toddlers.  Still floppy enough to scrunch down for smaller babies though.  If you have narrow shoulders, you may find it doesn't work as comfortably for you with a younger baby.  I love the Kozy with a toddler but at 5 months it doesn't fit me well.  The Bamberoo is the most different - it has a padded waist and much more heavily padded shoulders and a structured body - it feels more like wearing a buckle carrier as far as structure.  I have some other info and brands in my siggy link if you are interested.

Thanks for all the help! Should I just click on the link for the babywearing guide?

Yup - the babywearing guide link - sorry, lots going on in my siggy ;)

The one in my siggy is actually one I made - but it's basically the Kozy pattern.
