CD Detergent -- Rash! help Cloth Diaper mama's

In order to be thrifty and to save money I made my own CD detergent with borax, baking washing soda, and oxy powder. I found the recipe online and I know a lot of CD mama's use this mix.

I've done two loads with the new mix -- before I was using Rock n' Green.

She woke up with a bit of a rash and now her whole bum is red with a few raised bumps. Almost looks like a blister? I've never experienced a rash so I am not sure what to really look for. However it is just on her bum and not towards the front.

She has been a bit under the weather with a cold and has had 1 large poop w/ 4 smaller watery ones today. 

Do you think its the detergent or the pooping issue? Has anyone else's LO broke out using this mix before? I know this is a strange question but I am looking for some guidance and help!

    Do her dipes smell like ammonia? My nephew had raised blister bumps like you're describing and it was an ammonia burn. My SIL had to strip with blue dawn and switched to Tide Ultra powder with no issues. I thought of making my own detergent too, but after her experience I just use 2tbs of Tide and neither of us have had any issues with that.

    No, actually the ammonia smell has gone away since I switched to this detergent. My CD's have never smelled better (except when they were new). I had funk problems with the Rock n' Green.

    I would try switching detergents first. I don't see why she'd have such a reaction to her own poop. Could be allergic to something in the home mix. I know you said you've done 2 washes with it, but prolonged reaction could have caused the irritation. Like for myself, if I wash dishes once without gloves, nothing happens. If I wash dishes every day with no gloves, my arms break out in hives.

    I tried cleaning the carpet with a solution that included Borax and DD broke out in a crazy rash all over her body.  I'm certain that's what caused it.

    Try switching detergents.  Tiny Bubbles can be ordered from Costco if you or someone you know has a membership for pretty cheap.

    I also cloth diaper and recently have been dealing with rash.  So annoying.  I've been using California babies on it and ripped up an old fleece blanket to act as a liner, even though the cream says cloth diaper safe.  Anyway, my daughter has "the sniffles", no other cold symptoms, and I thought that could be the cause.  I switched detergents, from bumgenius to rockin green two weeks ago, but I don't think that was the cause.  The rash has pretty much cleared now, and we only use the California baby cream overnight.

    Could it be teeth?? I do not cd but that us the type of rash my older boys always got when teething.
