If so, does it ever happen organically without coaxing? We're down to just one nursing session during the day, but DS still nurses a ton at night. Not only is it frustrating because we are TTC but also b/c we are so tired from the interrupted sleep!
We did start the Jay Gordon method a little over a month ago and saw some progress after just a few days, but then everything went to crap (I'm still not sure why). Anyways, we're going to start this method up again, but I'm wondering if toddlers ever nightwean on their own while bedsharing. Also, does this occur around a particular age?
TIA!
Re: Do bedsharing toddlers ever SELF nightwean?
DS1 night-weaned somewhere at 14-16 months and completely self-weaned at 18 months. Once he was primarily on solids (after age 1), we did do some gentle holding off at those times he wanted to nurse 2 hours or sooner at night (but if he got hysterical, I would nurse him).
