I did the home study for both my DD and this pregnancy. It was just more affordable and convenient for me. I had a successful med-free birth with DD using the techniques I learned and hope to once again with this baby so despite not attending actual classes it worked out great for me. HTH!
We just started our Hypnobabies course so obviously I don't have a ton to add. We considered both the homestudy and an actual course, obviously there are pros and cons to both. For us, the course was harder to do one because it cost $375 vs. a lot less for the homestudy materials, also we have a 2 1/2 yo so it's a PITA to have to arrange care every week for him. However, one class in and I feel extremely confident that we made the right decision by investing in the classes. I love that MH is learning along with me and really getting guidance on how to help and support me. I think that's the most important thing for us. Also, I feel like I'm going to feel more confident about things, I love that I can talk to my instructor directly about any questions I have, etc.
Obviously I have little experience at this point and I haven't experienced the homestudy at all, but I'm glad we are doing the classes.
I did homestudy because I honestly was a bit skeptical and wasn't sure it was the way I wanted to go. I bought a pretty old version for $50 off diaperswappers. Once I started the training I really liked it and it worked out great for me to do the homestudy program with a 3 yr old running around. I will say that probably the biggest supporting factor for me was regularly visiting and posting at the hypnosis for childbirth forum on babycenter.com. There are a number if hypnobabies instructors and experienced hypnobirthers there to answer any questions you may have. Sort of made up for the lack of classroom experience for me.

It is 100% up to you. I am not very self motivated and knew I needed that class environment with accountability and well as being able to ask questions as needed. It also turned out great as my husband wasn't fully supportive until the class. Now he is my biggest supporter and so knowledgeable!
