D-Day......

DH is getting his vascetomy done today.  It's kinda bittersweet.  We always knew that after 2 kiddos we would be done, hands down.  It's just weird that we are already to this point in our lives........also in 5 days we are celebrating our 10 year anniversary........really, where has the time gone?

Re: D-Day......

  • How is DH handling everything? DH and I have talked about him getting this done after our next and he is not happy about the idea. So crazy how quicky these things come up.

  • I'm sure it's a lot to process. It's a very definite sign that one stage of your life is done. But how wonderful that you're hitting 10 years with two beautiful children! Happy Anniversary!

I'm wondering the same! Dh and I have also discussed it, but I have promised I won't make him do anything permanent. I hope all goes well with the procedure and you have a wonderful anniversary!!

  • I had D-Day the day after DD was born.  We decided three was it for us.  I'm a little sad, but I know it is for the best.  It's a lot of emotions, that's for sure.  Honestly, I think it was easier having it done at the same time as I had her.  I was already emotional, etc., got it over all at once!  :)

Happy Anniversary!  DH and I celebrated ours this weekend, but our actual anniversary is today.

  • Ten years and two BEAUTIFUL kids - congratulations!! It is definitely the end of a chapter, but you have the rest of your life to do amazing things together and focus on your family as it is now!

How is your DH feeling about this? My husband knows it's inevitable... it's just a matter of time. Haha.

  • Thanks ladies!

The first question I asked him this morning was "Are you nervous".....he simply just said "no".  This was ALWAYS his idea, I never asked him, pressured him to do this.  He said he was "excited" to have this done.....not the procedure, just the benefit of it.  I think it helps that one of his brothers' just had it done a year ago; his brother had a great recovery and made it sound like cake walk.  His brother went in late in the afternoon one day and was back at work the very next morning (doctor doesn't recommend that).

Obviously I'm hoping for the best......... cause we have ALL our windows to wash (inside & out) on Monday.......he better get the doctor's o.k. Big Smile
