Hi all.... just wanted to share what is going on....
Today I had a research 3d/4d u/s I am currently 28w4d. My dad (who is visiting) & my husband joined me. That part looked great. Then they sent my dad out and did a cervical exam. The research tech said my cervix looked thin (b/w 2.7 -2.8) and told me to call me doctor when I get home, but not to worry.
I called the office (not to concerned because I had an appt scheduled for tomorrow). When we discussed this and (what I believed to be) BH, they had me come in right away.
The available doc did an exam and found that I am 1 inch dilated. And had me admitted to the hospital.
That was about 8 hours ago. It ends up I am having contractions. We tried fluids etc, but no luck. They ended up giving me a shot of steroids to help baby's lungs develop and to give me something to fend off the contractions while those meds have time to work.
And that's where we are right now.
I am feeling pretty down about it all right now.... hopefully everything works according to plan...

Lurker coming in.
I am currently 31w4d and have been in the hospital since 24 weeks. I came in with cervical legnth of less than 1cm and dilated to 5. I am still here and still going strong. They can do amazing things for preterm labor as well as incompetent cervix, which ever may be affecting you.
I wont say its easy being in the hospital (been here 8 weeks) but its best for your baby. The Steriords will also do amazing things. Since I have been here there have been several babies born early and they are thriving. If you need someone to talk to PM me and I'll be more than happy to assist as much as I can.
It'll be ok.
TTC Since March 2010
DX: Ovulation Disfunction DH:low volume, but good
3 clomid cycles (50MG - 150 MG): No Response
Femara (5MG) 2/2012: Weak ovulation BFN
Femara (5MG) 3/2012: BFP!!!!
The hard uterus (which on its own is typically BH), but then I had some minor (initially) cramping beneath it. Honestly, I am still surprised these were the real deal.
As of right now (still in the hospital - at least another 24 hours). They are more intense now. For me that means that they are distracting from what I am doing and maybe need one focused breathe.
Hope that makes sense
Thanks so much for this.... I may take you up on your offer!
Good luck to you and yours as well!!!!
Hopefully that stops it. If not, ask for the terb. You and baby are in my thoughts!

One of my coworkers had twins delivered at 28 weeks that came home last week, and they're doing amazing. Even if the worst case happens, they can do a lot for your LO to make sure that he/she is alright. Hang in there.
