DD is 10 weeks old and used to sleep from about 10;30pm to 5;30am. I would feed her and she would sleep another 3-4 hours. I really could not complain. Since Monday she keeps waking up around 1;30-2;00 AM screaming for milk. Why is she all of a sudden hunrgry again? I thought she might be growing, but I do not know.
Furthermore, she is sleeping in a bassinet in our room and I am thinking of moving her over to her crib. She is pretty noisy when she sleeps and I keep waking up, even though she is sound asleep. Do you think it is too early to move her? Do you guys have any good tips how we can make the tranistion easier for her? I think her bassinet is nice and small and her crib is so big. I hope she does not feel lost in it.
Re: Sleeping issues
My DD is 11 weeks and we've been having similar issues. I'm wondering if it was the shots...she was out of sorts for a week and her sleep pattern took a definite shift after that. Things are starting to get a little better....let's hope for the best!
As for moving to the crib, I don't think it's too early at all! We actually had LO in the crib super early, like 3 weeks maybe. We had a bassinet insert with the pack n play and kept her in our room, but she never liked to sleep in it. One day I put her down for a nap in the crib just to see and she slept so much better! So she's been in there ever since! I agree, the crib seemed to swallow her at first, but she's fine and we sleep better!
DD had a hard time after the shots, too. So maybe this it it. At least you are saying that it gets better. Something to look forward to! Do you put DD to sleep while she is drowsy? I try to do that but DD keeps waking up and screams so I let her fall asleep in my arms and put her to bed then...
Try swaddling with her arms straight. It sounds like it would be uncomfortable, but they actually like it.
