I officially suck as a mom

8 hours. My dd slept for a grand total of 8 hours today, half of it in 5, 15, and 45 minute spurts. Her eyes are red because she is so tired. I'm exhausted. I have tried so hard to get her to sleep all day. Nothing has really worked. I have no freaking idea what to do.

    Based on your ticker your Claire is about 4 days older than my Piper and guess what she did 4 days ago ... could be a normal developmental thing - that sucks, but I tried everything (as you did) and N-O-T-H-I-N-G helped. Eventually I gave her a bath with night-time bath stuffs (wash & lotion), "force" fed her, and put her butt in the crib, 5 minutes of "almost" fussing and she slept for 7 hours. I hope something similar happens to you!

    You don't suck at being a mom. Your DD has just declared today "No sleep Tuesday/Wednesday". My DS does this all the time :) Hang in there! Being a good mom doesn't mean that things always go perfect, it means that you keep trying even when they don't. And clearly you are still trying!

    Our week has been like that too!  He isn't taking naps during the day and he's waking a lot earlier than usual at night and struggling to go back to sleep.  I just repeat the mantra my mom told me, "this will not last forever, this will end" and just muddle through the best you can!

    you dont suck! ds has been the same way lately! im thinking its a growth spurt/wonder week. dont be so hard on yourself!
