I'm being dramatic but honestly
I'm obsessing. My DD is already sucking her thumb to soothe herself to
sleep. I introduced the paci from day 1 but she doesn't love it like my
son did and instead always finds that thumb. I don't want it to be a
habit I have to break later b/c i feel the thumb is harder than the
paci. I don't mind the fingers/hands like all kids do, but the thumb
brings me anxiety for some reason. Anyone else having this problem or
suggestions how to stop it? Now, I'm just pulling it out and trying to
stick the paci in. Yes, I'm a bit vain and worried about the teeth and
her being 5 and still sucking her thumb. Okay, fire away. THANKS!
Re: NO!! Not already... (repost from 3-6)
This! She can't lose her thumb in the middle of the night lol. There are ways to break the thumb sucking habit, and many kids do it themselves. I wouldn't worry
I understand where you are coming from. We have not given DD a paci and we don't want her to suck on her fingers. We are battling the hand sucking when she is tired, she does this to stay awake not to fall asleep. We are doing the same thing as you, just pulling it out. I have noticed that she is doing it less and less so something must be working. I knew that this would be a hard habit to break even before she was born because in all of her ultrasounds she had her hands by her face.
