How many presents?

in October 2011 Moms

How many presents did your LO get or will they get from mom and dad?  So far we have two and I honestly think we're going to leave it at that.  I feel a bit of a cheapskate but money's tight and I'd rather spend what we can on her dress, cake and decorations for the photos. We're only having my in-laws over but I'm sure they'll get her something as well.

After reading the toy flop post below, I think I'll go wrap up some potatoes!

    I was only planning on getting her 1, the charm bracelet... But I was at TRU yesterday and ended up getting her a toy, and dh came home yesterday with a new outfit for her... So she got 3.

    The original plan was 3the ball pit, a shape sorter and a felt story. But this morning DH felt like he wanted to give him more so i suggested taking him to a toy store and letting him pick something out.

    Which they did. 2 somethingsa ball and a toy car because obviously my kid needed another ball. So our total is at 5.

    She will get one from us. Its an AngelDear blanket. She already has two but I suck at washing them on a regular basis so we are getting her a 3 pack so there will be 5 and I can still be lazy. But since she wont know, we arent going to get them for her until after her birthday. Right now, we are spending our fun money for the month on her party.

    3.  DH bought 2 and had them shipped here since he won't be here, and I got a book.  I'm planning on leaving it at 3, but I just know my ILs are going to spoil him rotten.  Wish I could tone them down a bit, but what can you do?

    She's getting two. The first is a single pearl from the Add A Pearl necklace which I though was a great idea until my sister pointed out that if we only gave her one a year she would never have a complete necklace since it takes about 75 or 80 pearls to fill one. We've now decided to do this pearl and one next year for earrings when she gets older and to just buy her a damn Mikimoto pearl necklace when she's older. She's also getting a caterpillar pull toy lol!

    We only got 1. A personalized "Whose Birthday Is It" book. We might get him another one or two after his party this weekend. We want to see what people got him first so we don't have doubles.

    0. She honestly has so much stuff and got so much at her party that I had to give some to the grandparents and return a bunch. Christmas is soon and she'll get plenty. The kids get stuff from us and their grandparents all year long I prefer to use the money towards an experience. She got a new outfit and a nice party and I'm putting money into her college fund.

    3. He's getting a PB chair which is his big gift. He's also getting a set of blocks because he is so into stacking and then knocking down and also a drum, mainly so I can get my pots back!

    With Christmas coming up and with how many gifts family will give, I didn't want to go overboard!

    Two lame presents, because of the $ thing.  I got him a coat and a box of wood blocks.  The wood blocks are too old for him, but I don't care.  Those were one of my favorite toys growing up, and they were at Costco for $10!

    He only got one, the Little Tikes Cozy Truck.  DH assembled it yesterday and he got to take a little spin on it.  On his birthday we are just going to put a bow on it.

    We did two from us: a charm bracelet and a second-hand walker/ride-on toy.  She did get quite a few other presents from family and friends, though.

    We're not getting DD much...we know she will be getting way too many gifts from the grandparents. We are getting her 2 new books and some foam blocks and letters for the tub. After her party if there are more fall and winter clothes she still needs, we'll get those as well.

    We got her the PB Anywhere Chair, a princess castle  with a few packs of the little people to go with it, and a trip to Disney World to celebrate :)

    I assure you, the potatoes would be a hit! :)

    We're not getting DS much. He's the first grandkid on both sides, so he's already spoiled rotten. He needs shoes, so we got him those and we're going to build him a toy box. I'd like to get him a wooden activity cube, but can't find any that I like in Canada.

    My SIL is getting that for Lo for Christmas and the little people packs. Now I don't know what to get her lol.
