Yup, I heard it will either be a shortage and/or prices will skyrocket. I honestly made a special trip to the store today just to stock up on diapers. I don't want to take any chances and I will use them eventually anyway. When money is tight you do whatever it is you have to in order to save.

I read about this the other day. Makes me thank god we use cloth and should have enough to get us through potty training after my son.

Does anyone watch true blood? This reminds me of their factory explosion. Maybe it was cloth diaper manufacturers that caused it ;

When you said it stole your nose and mouth all I thought of was the game people play with kids. "i got your nose, I got your nose"

Sadly I'm not using cloth diapers so this will effect me.

Glad we decided to CD. Crazy to think that in order to make a disposable diaper absorbent they have to use this acid. Would have never thought a chemical plant explosion could put a damper on diaper inventory.

Cloth diaper user here. After using sposies with my first two and now cloth with Em I can say with unbias: cloth diapers ROCK! Glad I'm not affected by another looming price hike. As if rising gas prices weren't unbearable enough.

I have been stockpiling diapers my whole pregnancy. Everyone said it was a horrible idea because Lo's are picky but my LO has had no problem w/ swaddlers, snuggles, baby dry and this week we are gonna try luvs'. I have a ton of diapers/pull ups, but honestly its never enough. I have already went thru about 600+ diapers in our 7 weeks

I'm glad I had a diaper raffle at my shower. He has so many size 2 diapers...I doubt we'll have to buy any for the next few months.

We buy wholesale so this shouldn't hit us to bad. Plus we only buy diapers once a month. I might just buy two boxes this month to be sure

Heard about this on the news last night as well. I'm going to the store tomorrow to get diapers for DS1, but I've got cloth diapers ready to go for DS2 should we need them. Plus I'm waiting on my first shipment of Honest diapers (plant-based) to get here this week too, and since the rate is "locked-in" I'm not too worried about prices on those going up just yet...
