I am hoping to get something like a jumper for DS this week. I have looked at a few and like that exersaucers seem to take up less space, but I am afraid it would scratch the floor. What do you have and do you like it?
I have the fisherprice jumperoo and LO seems to love it so far. He's only been using it for a few days, and is still a little small-- his tippy toes just touch the floor. It has a "fold up" base but TBH it hardly folds up at all. Our apartment is super small and it defs takes up a ton of room, but 5 minutes peace is actually worth it!
I have the fisher price rain forest jumperoo...I bought it awhile ago, however its still in the box as I don't think LO is quite ready for it yet. I believe LO has to be able to sit unassisted to use it and he's not quite there just yet.
We have both. They were both hand me downs. DS preferred the baby Einstein jumparoo but really like the Megasaucer too. If I were just getting 1 I'd go with the jumparoo.
Also the jumparoo was not nearly as loud.

We have both as well, and DS enjoyed both of them. Although he really loved his jumperoo. We have the Fisher Price Ocean Wonders one. I'd say pretty much any of the Fisher Price ones would be a good bet. He used it until he was almost a year old.
I loved the exersaucer because I could put him in it while I got ready in the morning. I used it until he was almost 18 months, granted he is a little guy in the 40th percentile.
DD is currently using the exersaucer with blankets stuffed around her. I'll be getting the jumperoo out soon. DS was about this age when he started using it.

I have the Evenflo ExerSaucer Triple Fun Jungle theme. I love this ExerSaucer because it can be used for all three stages. The first stage is the play mat, second stage is the exersaucer, and the third stage is a play table. I also love how much she can learn and explore with this toy.
I have the fisher price rainforest jumparoo and I love it! My DD has been using it for a while and she loves it as well. It keeps her busy for so long it's great :-)
We have a doorway jumper and at her 4 month appt this week, I asked the Dr about when LO would be able to use it. Her answer surprised me.
She said we shouldn't use them at all. She said that jumpers and exersaucers became popular 10 years ago, but that since then, research has shown that they put too much pressure on the hips and can cause serious problems. It's the same crotch-dangler problem you find with carriers like the Bjorn. She said that jumpers and exersaucers shouldn't be used until baby can stand, and at that point, they're pretty much useless. Unless you're just trying to keep baby contained for a few minutes while you make dinner or whatever.
Rubber Chicken, thanks for this input. I will definitely ask the pedi about this at our next appointment. Basically, I do need something to corral him for a few minutes so I can get some things done, but the high chair is working okay for that right now.

I highly recommend it!
