I have a quick question for you. I'm job hunting and there is the potential for a job interview at a local company; I spoke to the CEO last night and he was impressed with my resume and our phone call. So far, so good. Basically, the company is purging the employees who are bringing down the company and wanting to hire new blood and further expand the company nationally. Sounds to me like they are looking to make these changes happen soon and looking for the right long term people. That said, knowing that I am looking for something long term and can start immediately, I know I have those two factors working for me and I know the importance of stressing long term. And although not ideal, I'm sure if I got this job my maternity leave would be for a short period of time.
What advice can you give me about this and how do you think I should go about it? How and when should I address the fact that I'm pregnant? I know by law I don't have to say anything to them until the offer letter comes or even until I'm actually employed, however I don't want to be that *** either that kinda pulls the wool over their eyes. I spoke to a good friend male friend of mine to get his opinion and he said to not say anything until the offer letter is in hand and propose my plan for the months up to delivery and how long I'd need to take off once the baby comes but that I'd be right back to work once my leave is over and pick up right where I left off.
Thanks!
Re: 21 weeks and interviewing for a new job - any advice?
If they can tell, I'd bring it up but not like it's a bad thing. Say something like well obviously I'm expecting, so I'll need a few weeks off in february but will return as soon as the doctor gives me the ok.
That's just my opinion and I've had 4 interviews and right now I have 2 jobs and one that I need to call and turn down!! I'm still waiting to hear from the one I actually want though!!! But being honest seemed to help however if I wasn't showing, I wouldn't say a word till they offered you the job, then I'd immediately inform them.
