My LO recently moved up to the next class at her daycare and since then, I've noticed the two teachers really are not on par with those she had in her first class. It's just little things but I feel they are starting to add up and bug me. A couple of the things that happened: A few weeks ago, they forgot to administer medication as instructed and several days missed doses. She's come home in excessively dirty clothing, or like today, soaked down the front of her onesie all the way down to her belly. I changed her shirt before we left making sure they heard me say how wet she was and they said it was due to teething (no way!). Another incident happened on Friday when my DH picked LO up and the woman in the room (a floater) admitted to overheating her bottle, but then tried to give it to her anyway (LO was crying...DH just happened to come at this time).
Am I being too sensitive about these issues? I know mistakes are made and that she's a child and will get dirty, but I think a few times it has crossed the line. Do I say something directly to the teachers or talk to the director?
Re: Who to talk to about daycare issues?
I had similar issues with my son's daycare. I wasn't happy with the high turnover, I would pick him up in a very wet diaper...like you, many small things. I discussed these issues with the director and when things didn't change we ended up changing day care centers.
I say give them a chance to fix it first by having a discussion with the director.
