This weekend I took DS to look at Halloween costumes at Halloween City. He was terrified of every single mask, and decoration, he jumped at the howling ghouls, and tried to run out of the store when a broom sprung to life at his finger tips. He was even afraid of the harmless cute masks. The most notable reaction though, was to Sarah Palin. If you don't approve of torturing your child, don't watch the following (8 second) video;https://youtu.be/CcgV6BuIMhI
Am I horrible for thinking this was funny? LMK.
Re: My kid hates halloween.
I hated Halloween as a kid. I didn't like it until I was in college. Costumes are much more easy to tolerate when there's booze involved.
I hated dressing up. I hated picking costumes. The masks and makeup are uncomfortable, you never seem to pick the right thing, and the worst is if you do have a great costume, you usually have to cover it up with a coat or something since it's so darn cold out. See, the booze helps with that, too, since you don't feel the cold...
Give your kid a shot of whiskey and maybe he'll warm up to the holiday.
DD hated it also last year. DH likes spooky stuff, and loves Halloween so he's really desensitized her A LOT. She's also nosy as hell and even though something scares her, she is fascinated with it and needs to check it out even when she is terrified.
That video was funny..LOL I would have the same reaction!
