those with cats... crib tent?

I have three indoor cats that pretty much sleep where they want.  I don't want them to sleep in the crib and I don't want to have to leave the door closed all the time.  How do you keep your cats out of the crib?  Do you use a crib tent?  If yes, how well has it worked for you?   It appears that this will work with only certain types of cribs, so I need to decide if we are going to use this prior to picking out a crib.

    I'm no help, we leave the door closed all the time.  This will be helpful if they like to sleep in closets like mine does.

    We have two cats and we put the crib away from any other furniture so they can't jump in.  Our cats are older but generally the won't jump in something that they can't see the bottom of first.  So this way they can't tell that it is soft and comfy.  So far so good, but I hear the crib tents work.  They need to develop a tent for bassinets though, that's where we have problems.

    Our cat liked to sleep in the nursery. I would find him in the PNP, the crib, the changing table, carseat, etc. However, once DS was born and using those things, he stopped. Now my cat might be different from yours. I only keep the door shut when DS is sleeping in the crib, otherwise the door is open and cat pretty much avoids the nursery.

    My one cat tried to sleep in the crib before DD was born. After she was born, he never tried the crib again. We keep her door closed at night while she is sleeping. He does like to sleep in her pack and play, boppy, and bouncy seat now though. The other never bothers with any of her stuff.

    My cats love the nursery, so I just keep the door closed at all times.  I can't imagine having to move that tent thingy every time DS takes a nap.

    We took off the regular door and put a wood framed screen door in.  It was about $15 total to buy/install.  It really isn't as noticable/tacky as it sounds.  I don't have any pics with me right now otherwise I would PIP.  It works great.....we can just peak in there when he's napping or at night without bothering him.

    Funny thing is we thought about that, but it looked funky. We went with getting the Summer super high gate (it's 36" tall). Cats don't hop over things. They hop onto them and then down, so my cats just stare at the gate like "WTF IS THIS AND HOW DO I GET TO THE SMALL, HAIRLESS ONE?"

    we also have a screen door!
