Bf and spicy foods

Has anyone noticed a correlation between eating spicy foods and your baby's fussiness or mood?
I have been avoiding but I made some spicy chicken soup and put way too much cayenne in it. Well I went for a bite and that's it...two bowls later I'm feeling quite guilty and nervous!! I'm afraid to feed her now!
Any experience with this!??? I feel so bad..but it tasted so goooood

    Well, I made the mistake of eating spicy black bean salad.  We're 30% BM / 70% formula and she was fussy ALL DAY.  So I'd hate to imagine what it would have been like if I was exclusively breastfeeding.  I kinda knew beans were supposedly off limits, but didn't think they could have that much of an impact Stick out tongue

    I'm encouraged by what I read in my hippy-dippy breastfeeding books..... Think about women that live in India or something....spice is basically their food.  The book says that babies can become accustomed to/develop a taste for whatever you eat! hmm.....interesting theory....

    I haven't noticed any trouble with most spicy foods.  I did eat a dinner that had chilies in every single dish and while LO wasn't particularly fussy, her diapers certainly showed it had affected her.

    I have eaten spicy food since my HG died off when I was in the 3rd tri, and DD does not react to me eating spicy foods.

    We use Skyline Chili (a Cincinnati thing) whenever LO hasn't pooped in a few days.  I eat a cheese coney and all of a sudden he'll poop.  Works every time.  He doesn't seem to mind anything else.
