Need to vent

I'm so stressed!!! We start injections for IVF on Friday and this past weekend we came home from vacation to find a major leak in our house. We just moved in this past April and have been cleaning up the previous owners mistakes ever since. This time it seems that they used gorilla size anchors when hanging up Ikea spice racks in the kitchen and punchered the drain pipe. Little did we know it's been slowly dripping, until all heck broke loose while we were gone, and now have massive water damage in the kitchen and finished basement. I know that's what we have home owners insurance for, but really why now? Now I have IVF, insurance headache, kitchen/basement gut/remodel, and a very curious 18 month old to contain all at the same time. LIFE!!! Oh and to top it off I just invited our entire family over for thanksgiving dinner at our new house!

    Oh no leaks suck the big one.  I'm sorry that you are going through this right before IVF!  Just remember to breathe and it will all be OK!! Thanksgiving might be a challenge but it will all be OK!!!

    Thank you. I don't normally vent like this, but today after having cleanup guys and plumbers and everything to deal with I just feel like I'm drowning (pardon the pun) :)

    I'm already feeling better though. This board helps on so many levels. Thanks! :)

    So sorry you are dealing with this.  The couple that owned our house before us, also punctured a hole in a pipe with their spice rack.  Little did we know they leak started when they took the spice rack down and we came home to a mess one day.  Not fun!

    It will get better!

    our house is the same way - the previous owners were idiots and we have been fixing their mistakes for the past 4 years!  it will all work out!  deep breaths....

    Ugh, how frustrating!! Not a good way to come back from vacation either. Good luck on Friday, that's so exciting!

    Thanks everyone! You truly are the best.

    I've decided to try and look at the bright side of things. Once we finish cleaning up the previous owners mistakes (there were/are a LOT of them) it will be a wonderful home and hopefully in 20 years we will look back and laugh about this.

    Plus I'm so excited about finally starting IVF that it's hard to be upset for very long. :)

    For those of you that have gone through a similar thing did your insurance cover the damages and repairs?

    Sorry about the water damage - I hope the fix goes quickly/smoothly and that insurance helps you out. Also praying for a smooth ivf cycle.

    DD conceived after 3 years of ttc.
    MFI - DH had varicocele repair and took Clomid to get DD b. 02/2010

    TTC #2 since 6/2010
    10/2012 DH diagnosed with Epilepsy
    A few failed IUIs summer 2012 and 2013. 
    DH taking clomid and waiting to see if he needs another vericocele repair. 
    Hoping for a 2015 baby or babies. 
    Wishing, hoping, waiting.
