The Lorax DVD

Has anyone seen this movie? Is there any type of violence in it? My LO has been invited over to a friend's house to watch this. She has never watched any movies except for Tinkerbell and she hardly watches any tv. When she does it is mostly Sesame Street. I really limit what she sees and I am concerned about what might be in this movie but she really wants to go over to her friends house. If you have seen the movie is there anything at all that you found concerning however minimal?

Re: The Lorax DVD

  • I find this site helpful. I don't recall any violence but our opinion of what violence is could be different. There is a bad guy that trys to stop the hero from exposing him and there is a chase at the end. My 4.5 yo really enjoyed it. https://www.commonsensemedia.org/movie-reviews/the-lorax

  • My girls loved the Lorax and the theme in the movie is great.  Maybe read the book with her 1st to help her to know what to expect.  While the movie is different, the ideas are the same.

  • I agree that it isnt violent or scary. My 2 year old has seen it a couple of times and loves it. The overall message of the story is a great one!

  • not violent at all. The most violent moment is cutting down a tree!

very pro-earth and anti capitalism  (the villian is a corporate CEO who doesn't want trees and wants to charge people for clean air)

my kids love it and it has some very cute songs.
