Morning gals! We have my son's 4-month check up and another round of shots coming up this next week. At his two-month shots, he slept for a good hour after the shots and then was fussy for a couple days but no fever. I am wondering what others have done that are working moms and take their children to daycare...do you take your LO to daycare after shots or stay home that day with him/her? I was on maternity leave at the time of his last appt. If you do take to daycare after shots, did you leave tylenol with them to give or do anything else that you thought was helpful for LO and your provider?
Story sharing would be appreciated! Thank you:)
Re: Did you take LO to daycare after 4-mo shots?
I'm in a weird job where if I take off an hour, I'm forced to take an entire day off work. So, if I take off to take him for shots, we just chill out the rest of the day together. I usually just try to schedule the last appt of the day so I don't have to miss work and then he can sleep all night. However, if I had to go back to work, I wouldn't hesitate. My child has never had an adverse reaction to any of his shots. I'd just give a dose of Motrin before you drop him off and call it good. I doubt there would be an issue.
It didn't work out for LO's 2 month shots to do this, but her 4 month shots are scheduled for 3:45 on a Friday so we can have the weekend with her. For the 2 month shots I stayed home with her the rest of the day, and she stayed with a family member the day after instead of going to her normal sitter.

I always schedule LO's doctor appointments for later in the day so I can just take him home or days when I have off.
I'm not against bringing him back to daycare, I just have always scheduled them this way. That way, if the appointment runs late, I am not in a hurry to get him back to daycare or get back to work.

I have Weds. off each so I schedule all her well visits that day. That way I don't have to send her to DC. If I had I would with tylenol and let them know that she had shots that day.
