What are the hot new things?

I haven't been on the boards in forever. However I am feeling a little lost when it comes to what to get DD2 for Christmas and her B-day. With DD1 I was on the boards all the time and saw a lot of recs for various things so I felt like I had a really good idea of what was out there and what would work for us. This time I have no ideas. We still have all of DD1's things so we have a lot of the basics covered (shape sorter, walker toy, etc.). So...what are the hot, bumpie recommended things for this year?

    I don't know about the hot new things either, but we're in the same boat.  We have all the usual suspects so I have a hard time picking out things for dd.  Clothes are always good and I love picking those out.

    we are in the same boat as you. DD-29mo now and DS 9mo now. So far I'm asking for a doctor kit for DD she still doesn't have one. And a Step 2 buggy for DS bc DD has one and he loves it and will be ready to ride it after christmastime. That's all I have so far though.

    Same here.  DD1 is almost 5, and we have lots of stuff from her.  I think for their birthdays, which are a week apart, we are getting pottery barn anywhere chairs.  For DD2, I think Santa is going to bring her the little people Disney Castle.  Other than that, I'm at a loss.  We live in a small house and we are filled to the brim with toys and gadgets already. I mentioned to my sister last week that it would be nice if everyone could contribute to like a furniture store near us (gift certificates) so we could put the $$ towards a new bunk bed set for the girls that they are going to need once DD2 will soon not be able to fit in her mini-crib. Another good idea is season passes to local attractions.
