Stupid FTM question

We have a company that comes in and does quarterly sprays for pests. They use natural organic stuff, and we are due tomorrow for our fall spray. Some people have made me super nervous and said that I should cancel it since I'm due oct 16. I was going to have them do just the downstairs, because with the weather change we've been seeing spiders and ants (ewwww). But now of course I'm paranoid.  I've already had one anxiety attack this morning over something else and don't know what to do about this. Thoughts? Just cancel and deal with the pests, yuck? Am I making a big deal over nothing?

Re: Stupid FTM question

  • I would go ahead and have them spray. If it makes you nervous, just don't follow the person around as they're spraying. By the time it's dry, it should be safe to be around, for sure. (Speaking from the viewpoint of a 2nd time mom to be.)

  • I would keep them and just stay outside while they spray and then go somewhere for a few hours...this is what I do.

  • I'm there with ya. We have a monthly treatment done as well (scorpions are common here) and I'm due 10/15. I've been told the treatment is safe and will have ours done before the baby arrives. I'm too freaked out about skipping it and risking seeing any unwelcomed guests.

  • if it's natural/organic, I wouldn't worry about it.

  • Like everyone else said... Don't follow the guys around spraying and let them spray.

  • Yup, I'd keep the appointment as well.  Just stay outside or whatever while it's happening.

  • My husband does this for a living. If they are using what he thinks they're using (a natural and organic spray that is mostly made from the same ingredients in dish soap) than you will be fine.

  • Many of the natural and organic products are easier for your body to absorb.  Just because it can be called natural doesn't mean it's safe!
