My mom was telling a coworker how Jude has just been an awful sleeper for the past few months and how I'm kind of at my breaking point... Her reply: "Well, that's what she gets for breastfeeding this long!  That's why I never even tried it and why my sister's only did it for 3 months.  They don't need it anyway, so what's the point?"

Yes, lady, it's MY fault I have a terrible sleeper because I breastfeed him.  Mmm hmm.  Even though he STTN until he was 3.5 months old and was EBF then, too.  Bah!  Idiot.

    Oh I hear it too believe you me.  My kid has been waking up 3-5 times a night for the past 2 months.  Everyone looooves to tell me that it's cause he's bfed and sleeping with us. It probably is, but I'm not going to change so shove it people.  What's annoying about your mom's friend is that she's saying it doesn't matter.  Now that just makes her look stupid.  Being breastfed has soooooooo many extra benefits above being formula fed that I wouldn't give it up if he woke up 8 times a night so :P to your mom's friend.

    I get these nasty comments all the time.  But if you dare snark back at them w/ comments about formula you are a ***.  Can't win.  Don't play. :)

    I must be the only one to be given a hard time about weening.  I have incredible guilt about it and I keep hearing how "I made it a year" or I made it 2 years" or "just try to get through the winter".  I just can't make it:(

    I've been given that ridiculous advice all along too. Even my mom was encouraging me to give her a "big bottle of formula before bed. That'll do it."

    My mom just said something like this to me about an hour ago.  Just not as rude......but along the lines of "maybe he is not sleeping through the night because you are breastfeeding him."  Uh, no mom, you've asked me this like 45 times already and the answer is still no!
