I'd really like a gray crib, but the selection is limeted. I found the Bassett Ava at Buy, Buy Baby for $550 so with a coupon I can get it for under $500. The coordinating dressers have draws that are very small and probably not practical once the baby is over a year old. I am on the hunt for a Craigslist dresser that I can get refinished. If I can't find something, i want to look into other options. I am having a hard time finding other gray cribs within our budget.
We went with the Ikea Sundvik in grey-brown. We loved the simple style (I'm not a fan of all of the super-ornate cribs that seem to be the norm these days), the color, and the price. LO isn't sleeping in it full-time yet (she's still mostly in the pack-n-play bassinet next to our bed), but it feels very sturdy and we have no complaints so far.
I was originally looking for a grey crib, and had settled on getting the Bam Bam by Argington. It got an A- rating in Baby Bargains, however it doesn't have great customer service reviews on Amazon. I decided I just didn't want to deal with the hassle, but I still think it's a great crib.
Those were the only grey cribs that I was seriously considering because of the color, the modern design, and the under $500 price tag. We have since chosen to go with a crib/dresser combo in a driftwood color.

My second choice for a grey crib was the Hudson crib by Babyletto. It got okay reviews in Baby Bargains, but not great.

BabyLetto Hudson is nice as an alternative to the Oeuf Sparrow.
We went with gray as well and found a convertible crib online at Walmart for $200

I have this is navy and I love it! Baby Mod and Babyletto are the same brand I think, if you're researching.
