Prenatal Yoga

For all the mothers expecting a second child this time around, did you participate in Prenatal Yoga during your first pregnancy? If so, what was your experience like?

I'm thinking of joining a class next week but I want to hear about your experience first. Thanks!

  • I only went to one prenatal-specific class, and it was fine. I just decided that I liked my original class better, and did what I had always done with modifications.

  • I went to prenatal yoga at my studio last time. It was only offered once a week and was a good way to learn how to modify poses for regular classes as well as some good positions while pregnant. Hint: frog pose is amaaaaazing. 

    It was also fun to chat with other pregnant women and just have an hour to relax and focus on yourself.

  • I did and it was nice to take that time to focus on the pregnancy as well as get some beneficial movements in.  I hope I can find some time for it this time as well.

  • I want to take it but am a little nervous. I have never done yoga before so I am afraid of looking like an idiot but I might try it out once I get a little further along. The place here offers it in 6 week sessions, one night a week and I think they just started a session so I would have to wait anyway.
