question for those who fomula feed

I mostly breastfeed but supplement some as well as she has to have some formula while I'm at class.
The instructions on the formula kind of confused me. Like the whole discard within an hour once feeding begins. Does that mean I can Make it and let it air out for an hour and then get rid of it within an hour after I start feeding her it? Im just a little confused. Thanks

Re: question for those who fomula feed

  • Once you mix it, you need to either feed her right away or store it in the fridge for up to 24 hours. It can't sit out. Once the bottle touches her mouth, you have an hour. If she doesn't finish the bottle, you have to discard it after an hour. Make sense?

  • Agree with pp. 1. Put in fridge if not using right away (we make the days bottles ahead of time and warm when needed). 2. You have one hour from when lips touch bottle or you have to toss it. But to add:..... 3. If you make it and bring it somewhere to use it soon, you have two hours (but only one when baby lips touch it). 4. Read your formula instructions. Mine is good in the fridge for 48 hours.
