I haven't really started solids yet. I've let Renee try apple and peach puree (like two tiny bites) but she hated it! I don't really plan on feeding her solids until she is 6 months old.
Haven't started yet we go to his 4 mth checkup on the 19th cause I'd feel 1000% times more comfortable introducing solids to DS once I speak to his doctor & see what she recommends first!!
Breastmilk is all a baby needs till 1yr so that being said we won't start solids until 1yr or if DS shows interest.
my LO is super interested in food now, she follows my hand attentively as I eat and whines. I feel so bad!
DS stares at us when we eat but he hasn't tried to grab anything yet. I guess I'm so hesitant to do solida because I was told at the LLL that babies who start solids early ween from bfing earlier. I want to bf at least 1 year...maybe longer if DS still likes it. I love my booby milk time with DS.
4 months, 6 months, one year... I honestly don't think it matters in the big scheme of things. When our LOs are ten I don't think we'll be thinking wife I wish I did or did not start solids when I did. I got juice, rice and veggies before six months and cow milk before a year. I'm not allergic to anything and never had problems with weight, I'm back down to 5 pp weight. In 20 years they'll be telling new moms something different. I EP and haven't started DS on solids yet. I do not know when I will but I'm not anxious. It will be whenever his tongue thrust reflex goes away, between 4 and 7 months usually. When we start solids we will start with avocado. It will be our midday meal when he is the most awake and happy. We will do half a bottle first to take the hunger edge off then try for about an ounce of food. We will also be following the four day rule.

Even when introducing solids BM is the primary source of nourishment until 1 yr. I will watch for LO readiness, somewhere around 5-6 months. Some ppl say that babies get issues with texture if solids are delayed too long... I guess the information is conflicting.

they watch what you are doing intently b/c that is how they learn. Most agencies recommend 6 months, but some peds still go by the old guidelines and so they recommend four months. We waited until six months and did baby led solids and my LO didn't have any problems with the textures of solids. ( I'm not saying that some kids don't just mine didn't). I wanted. To wait six months before doing solids as I wanted to wait until his gut was closed.

Definitely. I read about the texture problems with very delayed introduction of solids, like 9 mo-1yr.
I think at this age, you should only be feeding them solids once a day.
My daughter hasn't been showing any interest in food or any of the signs of readiness. I'm guessing we won't start solids until she is closer to 5 months.
