June 2012 Moms

please help

I had my baby on may 16, 2012 and I have yet to stop bleeding. I have only had a few days break here and there since I had my baby. I am about to go insane. I had very regular and short periods before.

At the end of august they did an internal and external ultrasound, blood work, and a cervical exam and it all came back ok. They said its probably just hormones so they put me on lo loestrin fe. It has made it less heavy but now I have horrible cramping. I don't know what to do anymore. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Oh and I had a c sec and I am not breastfeeding. Thanks.

Re: please help

  • I was on that bc before having kids and it made me cramp less.

I had my 2nd c/s and just stopped bleeding about 2 weeks ago. My DD was born at the beginning of July.

Honestly, I would go back to the doctor...

  • I've had the same problem but my doctor prescribed Provera to stop the bleeding and I guess regulate my body. I stopped the bleeding, it took a few days and I then restarted bc (I'm on Nuvaring for now) and I started spotting again but just finished my period and am not bleeding! So it worked so far for me, granted it took a while, but I would ask you Dr about it. But I feel your pain and I hope you can find something that works! It's hard enough not feeling super attractive PP without having a constant period and bloat.

  • That seems like a long time. Do they have you coming back in if this treatment doesn't start working soon?

  • I can't remember which way it was my doc told me at my 6 week pp appointment but she said low/high estrogen levels can cause a big delay in your healing/bleeding. Are you taking a vitamin or anything else that may be triggering this?

And I'm sure Dr. Google can figure that one out for you in regards to whether its high or low...
