Lucas has been sick since day 4 of daycare. He started out with congestion which has continued for three weeks and then coughing was added a week later. Last Thursday he added an ear infection to his list of growing ills. He had an allergic reaction to amoxicillian so we are trying a new med cefdinir. Hope it works. Poor baby. He usually has such a happy personality but he is just moany and miserable. Oh man being a parent is stressful when babies are sick.

I could have written this exact post minus the ear infection/allergic reaction fiasco. Mikey got sick after 3 days at daycare and I remember thinking, 'it can't possibly be happening already?!' It's been on and off for the past month and just last week the ped put him on a nebulizer to stop the wheezing. I feel so badly for him and I, too, just want him to feel better.
Have you tried the Johnson and Johnson vapor bath? I put that in the bath everynight and it makes bubbles but smells like vicks vapor rub. It's great and it really seems to calm him down at night too. Hope your little guy feels better soon!
Along with an antibiotic, we used a saline nasal spray [oh THAT was fun], and we ran a vaporizer in her room at night. We put some Vicks vaporub in the vaporizer too. I think it made a world of difference.
Aria was sick about 10 days. Her cough was pretty much gone after 3 days with the vaporizer. Worth a try!
