Is anyone here a SAHW or Mom? what do you do for fun? I stopped working in July and I feel like I need to pick up a hobby or something since I'm not doing much these days. Any suggestions? I've always been a writer, but I want something I can do that doesn't involve a computer. I'm not really good at anything crafty. I was thinking of painting, but I can't draw.....
Re: Hobbies?
TTC #1 since May 2010. BFP #1 - 5/31/10; m/c on 7/22/10
Started seeing RE in August 2011
5 IUIs: BFN; IVF #1 - Success! BFP - 7/25/12
I'm going to be a stay at home mom eventually, but currently work full-time. Running is my main hobby, but I also love horseback riding, graphic design (computer-related... woops
), drawing, biking, etc. A little bit of everything! Volunteering at church.. etc.
There's some ideas anyways!
I feel like an idiot then
I can not get the basics of crocheting! I've tried and tried, read books, viewed videos... Does anyone have any tips so I can actually make use of that needle and yarn?
I really like reading, or you could start a prenatal exercise routine (approved by dr/midwife, of course!)... That's all I have for now, lost some of my ideas there. I have my hands full with my DD (just 1 yo) so fingerpainting is probably not a valid suggestion for you on that end
I'm going to have to look for this... It sounds fun and something I might actually not be able to screw up!
Lol! I was going to say the opposite! I love knitting, but crochet confuses me. (I like having all of my working stitches visible on the needles!)

D'Oh!
I joined a book club and a stay at home mom's group. My husband was getting concerned that I was spending my days talking to an infant and a cat. When I gave up wearing shirts altogether he thought it would be good for me to start getting out of the house more.
As for doing things that are crafty. It takes practice. No one starts out good. Pick something and stick with it. I prefer knitting myself. My best friend likes crochet. If you have a local yarn store they are great about offering classes and lending support to new crafters. GL!
You fill me!!! Z! My BFP Chart
Volunteering is a great idea! So is exercising, if you have any energy (I don't yet).
I like to quilt. My mom taught me some things when I was little and I got a used sewing machine for cheap and am using the internet to try to make some baby quilts for my nephew (being born in January) and my LO!
