LO was up a lot again last night crying, and the only thing I can figure is it was from gas pains. (He gets very wiggly and I can hear bubbles in his belly.) He has done this every other night for a week, and I'm feeling a little frazzled. I have tried drops, massage, bouncing, patting, bicycling legs...he's just miserable for hours at a time. He usually seems to calm down best if I am holding his belly to my belly, so I think the warmth helps. Is there any way to use a warm compress for his tummy safely? Anyone else dealing with this?
Re: Gas Again
Both boys were gassy. DS1 wasn't as bad as DS2 though. For DS2 I've had to cut dairy out.
I've found that the easiest way to use warmth for gas is to filly a hot water bottle with very warm water and put it on your lap. Take a thin towel or receiving blanket, etc and lay it over top of the bottle and then lay baby over your lap face down. I usually rub E's back and gently bounce my knees while doing this and the gas passes easily.
I haven't experienced this issue yet. (Though I do think dd just got her first cold:( But just wanted to say I hope your little guy finds some relief soon!:)
