I saw Dr. Kallenberger in January when I had not regained my cycles after going off BCPs in 2009, and I was not very satisfied with my visit. While he's a pleasant guy in general, he wanted me to immediately jump into the most expensive treatment without trying less costly options. Having had a history of an eating disorder, gaining some extra weight was a good starting point for me, but when I brought it up to him, he acted like I was an idiot. Instead, he said to come to him when we were ready to start TTC, and I could start the $3000/cycle treatment.
Since then, I've gained some weight, but my cycles have not returned. DH and I are ready to start trying, and I did not want to go back to Kallenberger. A friend of mine is a patient of Dr. Reshef and has just become pregnant after one cycle. She had nothing but great things to say, so I made an appointment to see Dr. Reshef in August. I absolutely LOVE him! He spent plenty of time with me on that first visit, taking care to get to know me a little more personally (not just medically), as well as sharing his own personal and professional background. He commended me for having gained some weight and told me that it would help me respond to medications. Instead of going straight to injectables, he suggested trying oral meds first (Femara, specifically). Even though I asked him a lot of questions, he took the time to answer each one individually. He also responded very promptly to an e-mail I send him in the evening. His nurse, Beverly, is also a gem. I saw her for a couple of mid-cycle scans while he was out of town, and she is great. I would highly, highly recommend scheduling an appointment with Dr. Reshef.
The only thing with him is that he does not do delivery, if that's an issue.
