I usually use cloth diapers but we are travelling to Hawaii next week and using cloth just won't be feasible. My DD is 17 months, a super heavy wetter, a tummy sleeper and sleeps 1112 hours at night. Anyone have a LO with similar statistics that can share what has worked best for you? I'm hoping to not spend my vacation dealing with leaky diapers because I bought the wrong ones. ;

DD is about the same. We use the Pampers 3 way fit and have never had a leak. (I do NOT recommend the Pampers Baby Dry, which is supposed to be for sleeping, those always leak.)
DD is a big wetter too, we use Pampers and have had great success.

LO is a big wetter too...we have had no problem with Walmart brand or Sams Club brand. I wouldn't recommend Huggies (my mom got us a box and leaked through them all the time.)

We have always used Pampers Cruisers here and they've worked great. I have tried other brands and store brands without success, only to run back to the store to grab another box of Pampers.
A note about the Target brand (perhaps other store brands). When I tried them for DD, they seemed to work okay, but they gave her a HORRENDOUS rash and she has never had a rash from anything. It was terrible - she was bright red and in so much pain. There is like a blue strip for taking away the wetness, I don't know if that's what caused the reaction or if it was just the diapers themselves. But the Pampers Baby Dry (which also has that blue strip) has never irritated her (I had to buy them recently while we were away because the store didn't have the cruisers).

Is there any reason that I couldn't just use the night time diapers during the day also to avoid buying 3 types of diapers for a week? I plan to buy the swim diapers too for the beach and pool

My DD sleeps about 11 hours a night and she isn't SUPER wet when she wakes up, but definitely wet. We have used Huggies Lil' Movers for the last few months and I can't remember the last time we had a leak.

yes pampers baby dry. Only ones without dry max, it's their "night time" diaper but not bulky, and its cheaper than cruisers.
My DS is heavy wetter, tummy sleeper, and 11-12 hours a night and never has leaked! We use day and night....but starting cloth during day.

Actually, ours never leak. This is what our almost 18 month old, heavy-wetter, tummy sleeper, 11 hour STTN DD wears day and night.
Re: Rec your favorite diapers
We use Pampers and love them. No problems with leaks except when we need to go up in size.
I love the generic Target brand. Like you I CD but when out and about all day/on vacation the Target ones haven't failed me yet.
I do double them up at night for extra protection.
